[Perry has been in Johto for a few months now and, while he is getting used to things, he can't help but miss home dearly. Luckily while he hasn't run into any of his real family yet, he's actually made friends so he couldn't say he was lonely, but...

Well he did really miss fighting without the aid of Pokemon. After doing some thinking, he decided that, as long as it's on mutual terms, fighting someone else probably wouldn't be too looked down upon.

Besides he and Heinz weren't nemeses anymore so it's not like he would be offended if he found out, right?]

Hey.

So I was wondering if anyone is interested in a temporary nemesiship with me. I am highly experienced in fighting but I am also willing to go easy on someone if they are not too experienced in fighting

I'm traveling currently but I am also fine with impromptu fights if we learn we're in the same town at the same time. I'm also planning on getting the badge needed to learn Fly soon too if that helps any.

I'm not really used to paying for a nemesis, but I am willing to at least buy you a coffee after our fights, or possibly some lunch depending on the time of day at the end of thwarting. If you feel like that's not enough I can be persuaded to pay more.

Schemes aren't necessary but always nice.

[Looking at the text, that seems to be enough to help Teddie get over it. In fact, he acts as though he was never upset to begin with. Seriously, it's like someone flipped a switch or something.]

Ah, that's right. I wouldn't wanna make anyone feel bad when they see me in action. Good call, good call.

[Perry gives a little laugh as he ruffles Teddie's hair. You're too sweet, Teddie.]

So how's the cave treating you?

[NO STOP, HIS PERFECTLY GROOMED HAIR!! But before Teddie gets a chance to screech about that and make everyone's ears bleed, Perry's question is good enough to distract him completely. You lucked out this time...]

Oh, that's right, I didn't show you yet! I totally found a new bear in here!

[Gosh can't he be affectionate? Teddie you are a terrible son.]

Oh? I guess it would make sense that bears would be here.

[You can totally be affectionate without ruining someone's hair, gosh. Who's the real terrible one here?]

Yeah yeah, check it out!

[Peeking over his shoulder, he gives a tiny whistle. The same kind one gives when they're calling a dog over or something. Except instead of a dog, it's Cho who toddles happily over towards her trainer, followed by a very eager cyndaquil. ...Which...isn't a kind of bear at all.

When the two get over to Teddie, he scoops up both in his arms and cradles them proudly before Perry like they're his children. Two very small, very fuzzy children...]

Look, see! Isn't he just the greatest? And since he's a flamey-type, I won't ever get cold when the weather decides to stop making sense again!

[Huh, that does... really look like a bear at all. Perry isn't really sure what it is but "bear" is not one of the possibilities that comes to mind.

Still, Teddie looks so happy with them that Perry couldn't find the heart to break the news to him. So he just smiles and reaches to pat the new Pokemon. Of course holding out his hand to see if the Cyndaquil will accept it first.]

[The cyndaquil does more than just accept his hand, he seems to grab it in his tiny arm nubs and place it on his head himself, as if trying to help Perry out. He rubs his own head against Perry's palm affectionately, trying to convince him to proceed with the pets.

Teddie, of course, can't help but beam, again acting like a proud parent.]

See~? He already likes you AND hasn't set anything on fire yet.

[Everybody wins.]
